Laptop 1 has the better processor and better graphic at 2gig. Video editing will not at all be worth your time on the above and will take far to long to process anything. If not by parts their is places like this that can do payment plans (note not affiliated nor gain anything from them, just a happy shopper) Suggest buy your parts slowly and if have a tower already can possibly stick new M/B and stuff into it.

It's easy to pick certain things over the others, like the 17" screen is better for video editing, while the flat sheen on the Dell is better for viewing without glare and reflections - but what is most important is having a more capable machine for editing video.
